Reviews AMD FX-8350 FX-Series Eight-Core Processor Edition, Black AM3

First off I'd like to say that in tests that can actually utilize my processor and is not bottle necked by my HDD, this AMD FX-8350 FX-Series Eight-Core Processor Edition has the equivalent of a server processor. CineBench rates it right at the level of 12 and 16 core processors, and when I give it a bit of OC power, it gets even higher than some servers.

The heat-sink that comes with this is also surprisingly good. It's very low profile and looks weak. My old dual core Athlon had a bigger fan on it, which initially made me worry. But the heat sink is just built better. It has heatpipes.. which, since I havn't bought a processor in 5 years I didn't know anything about till I started researching this AMD FX-8350 FX-Series Eight-Core processor, and they change the dynamics of cooling a bit.

The tiny fan that comes with this does a fine job and the system doesn't gets excessively hot. If you're planning on overclocking you might want to buy a new heatsink, but for how this processor is built the included heat-sink is awesome.

Second: For those of you whom have looked around for other reviews and have seen people state that frame rate for games is low, let me tell you the truth. Most monitors cannot handle more than 80 FPS. Most operate at a max of 60FPS. You can easily check your monitor by looking for your screen's Hz level. 60 FPS = 60Hz.

So when people complain that it only will get 140 instead of 160 with a $1000 Intel processor, they just payed way to much to get no improvement. This has more than enough power for the heaviest game demands, and will have power left over to run servers for your friends.

Third. The AMD FX-8350 FX-Series Eight-Core Processor Edition price. At $200 (I even got the 2 day delivery speed) for this power, it no doubt has to have the best power:cost ratio. (Just checked, it's number 5 under other AMD processors). The fact that in mulitcore benchmarks (benchmarks often only test the power in one core) this processor beats all other processors in it's range, and even some $600 processors, is amazing.

If you are thinking about getting Intel for whatever purpose, just choose this CPU, We're coming up on the next generation of technology, and programs are bound to start utilizing more than 4 cores soon. With this, you will already be prepared.
